Merit Making

The accumulations of merit and wisdom are the perfect causes of enlightenment.

Daily Prayers

Help

Forty monks from our monasteries perform pujas or prayers for individuals or families at the request of patrons. A day puja would consist of the following five prayers:

Tara Puja

Tara, the Swift Liberator, is a well-loved Yidam. Tara is commonly believed to be born from the tears of Chenrezig. After spending an inconceivable long time striving to liberate sentient beings, the Lord of Compassion become utterly dismayed to see the number of beings still ensnared in the cyclic existence. He was overwhelmed with sorrow and streams of tears fell down his cheeks. It was from these tears that Tara manifested and vowed to assist him in his battle to reverse the tides of Samsara.

Daily prayers are offered to invoke the blessings of the Yidam in our monasteries. Some of the benefits for sponsoring the puja are to pacify disharmony, remove obstacles, prevent suffering of sickness, increase merits, luck and fortune.

Zambala Puja

Zambala or 'Wealth Deity' Puja would help to increase our worldly and spiritual wealth. We need not just material wealth to sustain us through this samsaric life but also spiritual wealth and wisdom so that it will help improve our practice which in turn will gradually lead us towards liberation.

Amitayus Puja (Long Life Prayer)

Buddha Amitayus prayer is a special method for increasing lifespan, wisdom, and merit. The precious human body is very difficult to obtain and having obtained it, we must treasure it for we would not know when we can be endowed with this human form again. The Amitayus puja is to help lengthen our life span to give us more opportunities to gain merits and a step closer to liberation.

This puja service is a special method to gain merits to increase your life span.

Medicine Buddha Puja

Medicine Buddha is well known for his special aspirations and attention towards sick people. Prayers are offered to request for the blessing of Medicine Buddha to heal diseases as well as to overcome obstacles, to achieve temporary and ultimate happiness. Medicine Buddha puja would help us improve our general health when medicine is generally unable to accomplish everything it is supposed to do. In particular, when we are seriously ill, it is not uncommon to seek the help of the monastery to do special Medicine Buddha puja to help the patient overcome their plight.

Mahakala Puja

Mahakala, a protector, is the wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara. This puja is performed to help remove all kinds of obstacles in both our practice and daily life such as obstacles in our work place, in the family cycle and in the business environment. Thus, sponsoring this puja will help us lead a more 'peaceful' life with less stress through the blessings of the Deities.
